Helpdesk
We emerged in early 2022 to show the war in Ukraine through the eyes of ordinary people and to help them.
We launched support chats, now called First Line.
Together with Meduza and TV Rain, we launched the Davaite subscription to help Ukrainian civilians.
We have recorded over 350 testimonies and are now turning them into an archive that is convenient for readers and researchers. You can help us.

It's great to have a friend in your life that you can go to with any problem. Helpdesk is our reliable and faithful friend, always there to help, listen and support. Thank you to the whole Helpdesk team for your work, you are great 👍
Every time we turn to the Helpdesk, we receive not only help, but also the feeling that we are not alone in our difficulties. For almost two years, in many challenging situations, from evacuating residents from dangerous areas, to organizing temporary shelters, to supporting our children's camps, to providing humanitarian aid, we always know that we are not alone and that we can rely on your support. Your understanding and willingness to help gives us confidence and inspires us to continue. We are very grateful for your selfless participation and attention to our needs. Working together helps us maintain our faith in humanity and that all our efforts are meaningful. And that is incredibly valuable right now. And we would like to believe that together we have managed to change the world for the better, at least a little, and definitely saved more than one life.
Thank you so much for organizing last year's fundraiser. First of all, the fundraiser helped us a lot at a critical moment: Martynka was literally on the verge of closing down because many organizations stopped supporting Ukrainian initiatives. The Helpdesk Fundraiser helped to cover critical operational expenses such as housing, medical expenses, and hotline operator salaries. In a very short time, we were able to raise even more money than we had originally anticipated. Second, a huge thank you to your team and your work. Everyone at the Helpdesk communicates with great sensitivity, explains tasks clearly, and works very quickly. Your team solves tasks both quickly and attentively. As an organization that is constantly in a crisis situation, this is very valuable to us. We are very happy to work with you.
One of our main projects is a social canteen. Here we feed Ukrainians and Georgians who are in a difficult situation. Every month it becomes harder for charitable organizations to raise money, but working with the Helpdesk helps in the most important aspect: being heard, having an audience. Thanks to the Helpdesk and people who have heard about us, we have been able to pay rent, make repairs, and buy food. Thanks to the guys for all they do to make the world a better place.
For us at OVD-Info, the Helpdesk is one of the most important media partners. Every time, they turn our complex news about political repression or political prisoners into a compelling story. Thanks to their cards, our defendants received tens of thousands of rubles for legal work, and we were able to attract thousands of people to mass appeals and petitions to the authorities. This is an organization that provides a safe, fast and easy way to help those affected by the war, and instead of frustration and fear, to feel part of a great cause.
We are very happy with our cooperation with the Helpdesk over the past year. They do their work professionally and productively. Now they help us not only with words but also with very important deeds. In cooperation with TV Rain and Meduza, they launched the "Let's" project, collecting and transferring money to Ukrainians affected by the war. They also help us by telling readers about the important and complex texts of Novaya Gazeta Europe, helping to spread information about our important updates. We are always happy to support all their initiatives whenever possible. And we hope for further fruitful cooperation!
